Not every drip needs a 2 am call-out, but some plumbing problems simply cannot wait. A plumbing emergency is any issue that is causing active damage, poses a safety risk, or means you cannot safely use your water or bathroom.
If you are unsure, rather call. We will quickly advise whether it is an emergency and talk you through the next safe steps.
We handle all urgent domestic and light commercial plumbing emergencies, including:
- Burst or severely leaking pipes inside or outside the house
- Major leaks in ceilings, walls or under floors
- Blocked or overflowing toilets, drains or sewer lines
- No water supply to your home or building
- No hot water or leaking / failed geysers
- Dangerous tap, mixer or valve failures you cannot shut off
- Water running through lights, plug points or ceilings
If your situation is not listed but feels urgent, call and we will help you assess it.
While you wait for the emergency plumber, these steps can help limit damage and keep you safe:
- Turn off the main water supply if it is safe to access โ this will slow or stop most leaks.
- Switch off power to any area where water is near lights, plugs or appliances.
- Turn off the geyser power at the electrical board if the geyser is leaking.
- Move furniture, carpets and valuables away from the leak to prevent water damage.
- Put buckets or towels down to catch dripping water where possible.
- Do not use toilets, drains or taps that are blocked or overflowing.
If anything feels unsafe, keep your distance and wait for our plumber to arrive.
We keep our emergency process simple and transparent:
- You call us and tell us what is happening. We may ask for photos or a short video.
- We advise you on safety steps to limit damage until we arrive.
- We confirm availability and call-out fees, especially for after-hours, weekends and public holidays.
- We dispatch an emergency plumber to your address as quickly as possible.
- On-site, we isolate the problem, stop leaks or overflows and carry out the necessary repair or safe temporary fix.
- We explain what we have done, any follow-up work recommended and provide a clear invoice.
After-hours rates and call-out fees may be higher than standard working hours. We will always discuss this with you before you confirm the call-out.
